Template:Class 2 Fauna

The Crimson Ray is an in-development life form belonging to the fauna category. It spawns exclusively in the Inactive Lava Zone and the Active Lava Zone.

Appearance

In terms of body shape, the Crimson Ray is identical to the Ghostray, however, it has major differences in coloration:

  • The creatures body is opaque.
  • The top side of the creature is predominantly dark red in color, with a few lighter patches, whilst its underside is pale yellow in color.
  • Its eyes and gill rows emit a yellow, bioluminescent glow.

Trivia

  • On Sketchfab the Crimson Ray is referred to as "Ghost Ray Opaque".
  • The data bank entry suggests that ancestors of the Crimson Ray were predatorial

Like all ray specimens encountered on 4546B, this one features poisonous flesh and exhibits generally docile behaviour.

  1. Thick scaling indicates adaptation for high temperature environments
  2. Forward-mounted eye sockets would suggest a predatory evolutionary history, left behind long ago
