It's catchable, however, because of it's high speed and agility this is not always easy to accomplish.

It's attitude is passive, they will not harm the player but will instead try to flea. Their speed allows them to easily escape a starting player with no fins. They can, however, be captured easily with the use of a seaglide or stasis rifle. They can also be spotted easily because of their big yellow eyes.

Cooked Peepers have excellent food properties. For this reason it's a very useful food for players in the survival mode and may be worth the hunt.

Additionally the Peeper is a great lure for Stalkers. If you are finding you have trouble going into the Kelp Forest, bring some Peepers with you and release them.
