Laser Cutter (Subnautica)

The Laser Cutter is a tool that is crafted at the Fabricator.

Its primary function is cutting open Sealed Supply Crates and opening sealed doors. When aiming at a crate with the Laser Cutter an indicator that says "open percent: 0-100%" will appear, similar to the one that appears on the welding tool. It has an energy level which can be replenished with a Battery.

When equipped, it emits light in a 5 meter radius from the player.

Power Usage

For every 2% of usage on an object, the Laser Cutter's battery percentage will go down by 1%. Meaning the player can get two objects opened before needing to replace the battery.

The ultra high frequency laser cutter is tuned specifically to cut through titanium and plasteel based materials at a thickness of up to 10cm. This makes it an essential tool for construction, salvage and rescue operations, but ineffective on natural obstacles.

Trivia

• In previous versions of the game, the Laser Cutter was crafted at the Modification Station with a Welder and a Diamond.
