The Seamoth is the second fastest of the vehicles with its top forward speed of 25 Knots or 12.7 m/s (46 km/h), and as much as 17 m/s when traveling along an off-axis vector.
It can also break Fungal Samples and Treespawns by smashing itself into them; doing so, however, will damage the Seamoth if Hull Reinforcement upgrades are not installed.
Overview
Upon entering the Seamoth, the player's Oxygen stores will be replenished, unless the Seamoth is depleted of Energy, where the oxygen will slowly run out, until the point where the player is losing oxygen within the Seamoth.[1] This enables the player to dive into deeper areas of the ocean that are not easily accessible by swimming or by using the SeaGlide.
The Seamoth has an Energy supply that needs to be maintained by replacing the Power Cell on its back. Alternatively the Seamoth can be charged when docked to the Cyclops or to a Moon Pool. Doing so will drain energy from the respective unit. On one full charge, the Seamoth can travel approximately 10650 meters (106.5m per percentage of energy) before the power cell must be replaced. 1% of the submersible's energy is expended for every 18 seconds that the player remains in the vehicle, even if the player is not in motion during that time.
The Seamoth's health, separated from the player's own, will decrease if it is attacked by hostile Creatures or crashed into objects (including some plants) in the environment. The damage can be repaired via the Welder tool, if the player has one. As of the Seamoth Update, once its health reaches 0%, the Seamoth will explode.[2]
Influence of Depth
The Seamoth has a safe Depth of 150 meters, and a crush depth of 200 meters. The on-board AI will state "CAUTION: Passing safe depth" when below 150 meters, and a HUD message will appear with "WARNING: Passing safe depth of 150 meters. Collision will do damage to hull". However, the Seamoth will still take collision damage above 150 meters.

Hazards
Currently, the Seamoth can be harmed or destroyed by surpassing the crush depth's limit. Also, other types of fauna, like Reaper Leviathans, Bone Sharks, Crashes, Crab Snakes, Drooping Stingers can all be considered as serious threats towards the submersible.
Thrust
The Seamoth produces enough forward thrust to travel at a maximum speed of about 12.7 m/s, and enough lateral thrust to travel at about 11.3 m/s. By rotating the Seamoth diagonally off-course and thrusting both forward and laterally, speeds close to 17 m/s can be attained.
While useful, this method of travel can be hazardous, since the player's field of view will be reduced in the direction of travel.
Recipe
The Seamoth can be constructed by the player using the Mobile Vehicle Bay. However, you will first need to find and scan 5 Seamoth Fragments using the Scanner.
Upgrades and Customization
The Seamoth can be customized with the Seamoth Modification Station. The console allows the Seamoth to be named and its colours changed. The console also crafts Upgrade Modules for the Seamoth. Up to four of these modules can be applied to the upgrade panel found on the Seamoth's left wing.
