The sand shark is a large hostile animal in subnautica. It can be found in the [[Grassy Plateaus]] biome. Sand sharks commonly stay close to the sea floor. As their name implies, they like to burrow into the sand and wait for unsuspecting to prey to swim by so they can attack. The sand shark attracts prey to its location by shuffling around in the sand creating a cloud around itself causing the player to go near it in curiosity. Once the player is close enough to the sand shark, it will emerge from the sand and chase the player. However if the player swims to the surface, the sand shark will break off the chase and return to the sea floor. Sand sharks also appear to be active at both day and night. When it's dark, the sand shark's mouth has [[bioluminescent]] glow to it. |
