Propulsion Cannon (Subnautica)

The Propulsion Cannon is a tool crafted by using the fabricator.

The Propulsion Cannon takes up four slots in the player's inventory.

Uses

The main function of the Propulsion Cannon is to attract and launch objects with its beam, including small life forms and harvesting nodes on a range of up to 19 meters. Objects can be suspended by the Propulsion Cannon by pressing RMB when facing the object and being close to it. The player can then launch the object by pressing RMB again. "E" releases the items.

Attracted objects can also be picked up by the player, making it easier for the player to catch fish.

One of its possible future uses is to launch DNA serums.

Energy

The Propulsion Cannon has an energy level which can be replenished with a battery. While picking up objects does not drain the energy, holding objects with the Propulsion Cannon drains the energy level by 1% every 1.3 seconds. Launching objects depletes the energy level by 4% per launch.

The Propulsion Cannon will also recharge as you swim if you have the Swim Charge Fins equipped.

The stasis rifle uses patented technology to slow time in a specified area to as near to a full stop as the laws of physics will permit. It is an advanced, handheld tool designed to facilitate scientific and engineering operations by expanding the window of opportunity for action in time-sensitive scenarios.

Common applications include:

• Slowing fast-moving mechanisms, such as fan belts, to facilitate maintenance operations
• Pausing the biological processes of organisms for closer study
• Halting the progress of fires and flooding
• Navigating perilous spaces by freezing potential threats

The stasis rifle features an independent, replaceable power cell, and the trigger may be held down to increase the area of effect and duration.

Due to high power consumption and non-lethality, conventional weapons are recommended for personal defense.

Trivia

• The Propulsion Cannon has many similarities to the Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator or Gravity Gun from the Half-Life Series. The developers have even used it as a design inspiration.
