They can be seen roaming the Mushroom Forest, Jelly Shroom Caves and the Grand Reef. Jellyrays can be frozen with the Stasis Rifle. They do not drop anything when killed. Jellyrays are also curious of lights. If they see a light, they will investigate it.

The torso itself is of a purplish hue. Jellyrays have six eyes of various sizes on each side that are running in a line down the length of its torso.
