Template:Infobox:Fauna Flora The Peeper is a life form belonging to the fauna category.

The Peeper's attitude is passive. It will not harm the player, but will instead try to flee. While they are catchable, their speed allows them to easily escape a player with no fins. They can, however, be captured easily with the use of a seaglide or stasis rifle. They can also be spotted easily because of their big yellow eyes. At night they swim with their eyes closed.

Cooked Peepers have excellent food properties. For this reason, it's a very useful food for players in the survival mode and may be worth the hunt.

Behavior

Peepers can be observed jumping out of the water in the morning and the evening. This strongly resembles the behavior of dolphins.

Peepers can also be seen being chased by Stalkers. Peepers appear to be the Stalker's favorite food.

Appearance

The Peeper is a blue, small fish with a pointed yellow mouth that sits in the front of a big head. It has one very large eye on each side of its slim body. It has a small pointed tail with two fins protruding vertically from it. There are three holes on each side of the body that have a similar appearance to gills. It has two stalks on the top and bottom of its head, they appear to propel the fish forwards. The eyes feature a large black pupil with a yellow sclera and a brown iris. It is also worth noting that the Peeper has two eyelids on each side.
