Characteristics
Function Fire-able Vortex Torpedoes
Usage Type Active
Obtained from Seamoth Upgrade Console

The Seamoth Torpedo System is an Upgrade Module for the Seamoth that arms in with the ability to launch Seamoth Vortex Torpedoes. The vortex torpedoes are a non-lethal projectile that can temporarily trap Life Forms in a whirlpool. The Seamoth Torpedo System is crafted using the Seamoth Upgrade Console and must be applied to the Seamoth's upgrade panel to function.

For every Seamoth Torpedo System module that is added to the Seamoth a torpedo silo is added the Seamoth's front. Each silo has a capacity of four vortex torpedoes giving the player up to sixteen torpedoes if all four upgrade slots are using Seamoth Torpedo System modules. The layout of these silos is dependent on where the modules are placed on the Seamoth's paperdoll UI upgrade panel. Each Seamoth Torpedo System module will begin with two vortex torpedoes. Replacements and extras can be crafted with the Seamoth upgrade console.

The vortex torpedoes are launched using left mouse button after selecting the module on the hotbar using the corresponding button (1-4). The number will depend on the location of the module in the upgrade panel. The torpedoes recharge after a few seconds and the swirling whirlpool will last for 15 sec.

Currently, the Seamoth Torpedo System uses 1% off the Seamoth's power for each torpedo fired with no other upgrade modules equipped.

This upgrade can be used strategically to distract and disorient the larger Creatures in the game for a short time.

Removing the Seamoth Torpedo System without first removing the torpedoes from the silos will result in the loss of those torpedoes.

The player needs to bring Magnetite to the Seamoth Upgrade Console in order for the upgrade to show up in the menu.
