 The optimal suit-fin-tank outfit would be the Ultra High Capacity tank, Reinforced dive suit, and Ultra Glide fins, and Rebreather. This is because the Reinforced suit will give ~50% damage reduction, the Ultra High Capacity tank will give you 225 seconds of Oxygen, and the Ultra glide fins will cancel all swimming penalties put on by the Reinforced suit and Ultra High Capacity tank, while still making you faster than base swimming speed without any extra stuff. The Rebreather cancels all depth related Oxygen penalties.
+Now, the ever present problem of base power. When you get the Nuclear Plant, it may seem enticing to build it, especially because of how much power it produces. And it is good if you want to have more than one Water Filtration Machine (although just one is more than enough to care for all your water needs). But it needs to be refilled with reactor rods; they become depleted faster than you may think. I have found that the best power source is the Thermal Plant in a lava geyser or thermal vent. This is because at temperatures of over 70C, your plant will output more than one energy/second, which is more than satisfactory for a Water Filtration Machine and a Moonpool. Be advised, however, that using the scanner room will deplete energy faster than it can be refilled by the Plant. But other than that, Thermal energy is the way to go.
+For food and water, the best options are an Alien Containment filled with Reginalds (they can be found in the Grassy Plateaus with relative ease), an Interior Growbed or Plant Pots with Bulbo Trees (they are better than marblemelons(a bit controversial i know)), and a Water Filtration Machine.
