Appearance
The Sulfur Plant is a dome-shaped flora species that grows in safe shallows caves. It is a dark beige colour on the outside so it can blend in with its environment but on the inside it is bright red with yellow lines at the edges of it's "mouth". The plant's "mouth", a large hole on the front of it, serves as a home for Crashfish that live inside.
The interior of it's mouth has the same colors of a Crashfish, which likely serves to camouflage the crashfish hiding inside.
Behavior
When the player gets too close, the Sulfur Plant quickly opens up like a flower, revealing the Crashfish inside. If the player continues to approach, the Crashfish will charge the player. Once the plant is empty, the player can harvest the Cave Sulfur inside.
If left undisturbed, the Sulfur Plant will spawn a new Crashfish within 15-20 minutes, which could be prevented by destroying it by using the knife. However, once the plant is destroyed, its powder is no longer harvestable.
Data Bank Entry
These plants appear to serve as nests for the explosive organisms which guard them. - The outer petals are undamaged by the presence of the inhabiting creature, suggesting a complex co-development Assessment: Sulfur has applications in construction of the repair tool |
