Removing the Torpedo System without first removing the torpedoes from the silos will result in the permanent loss of those torpedoes. (I have no idea when the change occurred, but with the current build on July 7th, 2020, this is untrue. You can safely uninstall the Torpedo system, reinstall it and retain all of your torpedoes. Even switching the slot you install the Torpedo upgrade into still retains all of the torpedoes)
