Each torpedo silo can hold four '''Vortex Torpedoes''' and a Seamoth can have up to four torpedo silos depending on the upgrade configuration. When the Seamoth Torpedo System is first installed it will provide two '''Vortex Torpedoes''' per module. |

The '''Vortex Torpedoes''' can be used to strategically distract and disorient the larger [[Fauna|Creatures]] in the game for a short time. It does this by creating a small whirlpool that causes creatures to be pulled in and swirled around. This gives the player enough time to escape. |

The Vortex Torpedo is a consumable, non-lethal ammunition that is used in conjunction with the Torpedo System Upgrade Module for the Seamoth and the Prawn Suit Torpedo Arm. The Vortex Torpedoes are loaded into the torpedo silos in the front of the Seamoth or into the Torpedo Arm of the Prawn Suit.
The Vortex Torpedo's payload is a small whirlpool that causes creatures to be pulled in and unable to move freely, similar to the effects of the Stasis Rifle. This can be used to immobilize aggressive creatures such as Stalkers, Sand Sharks, and even Reaper Leviathans, decreasing the player's chance of getting attacked.
When fired, the Vortex Torpedo will lock on to nearby creatures. If there is a Leviathan nearby, it will automatically lock onto it regardless of other nearby creatures.
