The Escape Pod is the players current starting location. It is the only one that withstood the crash of the Colony Ship the player was on. It's frame identifies it as Lifepod 5

The player can get out through the top or bottom, either using the ladder or the bulkhead in the floor.

The internals appear to be damaged and smoldering. It is currently unlcear if this can be repaired in a later stage of the game.

It houses the Fabricator, an important crafting tool and thus will be visited often in the early stages of the game.
