― PDA, Dialogue

The Radiation Suit is a piece of Equipment which prevents player damage from Radiation. The blueprint is unlocked automatically after the Aurora has exploded.
It consists of three parts: the Radiation Suit itself, the Radiation Gloves, and the Radiation Helmet. These three parts are all added to the Inventory when the player crafts the Radiation Suit in the Fabricator.
The Radiation Suit parts must each be placed in their respective slots of the Paperdoll UI to take effect. When not worn, all pieces of the suit take up four inventory slots (2×2) each.
Uses
The Radiation Suit is the only way to survive inside the radiation zone after the Aurora's explosion. Therefore, it's very important to get a Radiation Suit as soon as possible.
The player can swap out parts of the Radiation Suit for other items, such as the Rebreather. However, to eliminate radiation damage completely, the player must equip all three parts. Equipping other parts thus results in partially blocking radiation damage in exchange for whatever bonus the other equipment gives.
The Radiation Suit is no longer needed after the player repairs all the breaches in the Aurora's drive core room, despite some information given to the player (such as the PDA entry for the Nuclear Reactor).

Trivia
- Markings on the arm indicate that the Radiation Suit has been designed or issued by the Alterra Corporation. Alterra also issues the tools in the game Natural Selection 2, which shares the same universe as Subnautica.
- The Alterra Radiation Suit's guarantee of safely withstanding radiation fluxes of 400 sieverts per hour is extremely impressive protection. Without shielding, 1/50th of that dose for a single hour would be a certain death sentence even with treatment.
- In the cinematic trailer, Ryley is wearing the Radiation suit upon exiting the lifepod. This timing is impeccable, as the Aurora explodes right after this.
