Description

The Brute Shark is a medium-sized predatory species that takes design inspiration from rays, tigerfish and sharks. It was designed by Alex Ries.

Appearance

The Brute Shark has a streamlined body that is mostly grey in color. In place of traditional fins it has large wings not dissimilar to those of the rays. It has two side-mounted eyes lacking pupils or irises. The eyes fit into shallow recesses in the head just behind the mouth. The mouth itself is odd in that it appears to be composed of a distinctly thicker layer of tissue to the rest of the body, somewhat resembling the bony plates on the heads of some placoderm fish though it is unlikely that the structure is bone as it bears the same coloration and patterns of the skin. The mouth is filled with sharp teeth, seven pairs on the upper mandible and six pairs on the lower, a total of twenty-six. The body is adorned in some areas by bright yellow bands of color; on the snout, behind each wing, and one behind each of the eyes that continue until they meet on the back. It has a small dorsal and pelvic fin, but lacks a tail fin entirely.
