The Speckled Rattler is a small, terrestrial flora species. It is found in abundance on the Floating Island.

The player can either pick it up by hand or hit it with a knife in order to harvest four Speckled Rattler Spores from it. Both can be planted.

The Speckled Rattler can also be found on the Mountain Island around and leading up to the Alien Arch. They are also found scattered inside the Crag Field Alien Arch Cache.

Appearance

The Speckled Rattler resembles certain types of fungi. It has a round cap covered with dark purple dimples, emitting a dull bioluminescent purple glow, growing on a thick stem.

A brittle land-plant containing large spores which generate a characteristic rattle when the plant is shaken. This may act to ward off predators, or even encourage predation as a means of spreading the spores.
