Appearance

The Eye Stalk consists of twisted purple stems that are crooked and have nearly no round corners, with a few darker purple stripes. numerous yellow bioluminescent bulbs resembling eyes protrude from smaller stems. The bulbs produce a large amount of light, and are the primary source of light in the Deep Sparse Reef. The light could also be used as lighting outside a seabase when one lacks the blueprint for a floodlight or other lighting apparatus.

A cave-dwelling tuber dotted with luminescent, photosensitive 'eyes'. These eyes may in some way direct the twisted growth of the stems themselves, possibly in reaction to other light sources, proximity of cave walls, or other environmental conditions.
