Mushroom Forest Caves (no confirmation for this name) are a special type of caves that is characterised by flora and coral structures typical for the Mushroom Forest biome. Generally, the Mushroom Forest Caves have only little room for maneuvering, but it is recommendable to navigate the Seamoth through them nonetheless. Bioluminescent plants, namely rows of Blue Clusters guide the player through the cave systems, but explores should proceed with caution. Some of the Blue Cluster trails lead to dead ends, or back around to their start. Following said trails can waste precious time, especially when running low on oxygen. The use of a Dive Reel, a Beacon, and two or more High Capacity Tanks is recommended.

There are currently two Mushroom Forest Caves known to exist. The first one is located inside the stem of the Giant Coral Tree that dominates the Mushroom Forest towards the Northwest of the map. Entrances can be found both at the top and the bottom. The stem also houses a small, insignificant cave of this type at the bottom of the stem. The second Mushroom Forest Cave is located in the Mushroom Forest but it also connects to Lava Caves, the entrance to which is located in the Koosh Zone.

The walls of the caves are littered with Basalt chunks. In the cave located inside the stem of the Giant Coral Tree, Lithium crystals can also be found.
