Template:StandaloneExpansionThe Expansion is a currently unnamed, upcoming game that acts as an expansion to the story of Subnautica. The full release date is currently planned for sometime in 2019[1], with early access coming sometime in late 2018.[2] The Expansion will be purchased separately, and as such will not require the original game to play.[3] The Arctic will be the setting of the story, which will feature a different protagonist rather than Ryley Robinson, and takes place in a different map in a time after Ryley Robinson has escaped Planet 4546B.[4][5]
