Energy is used for several items and vehicles and is needed for them to operate. When energy runs out, the player can use a battery or power cell (default R) to refill the energy. As of the most current update, energy is implemented for the SeaGlide, Seamoth, Welder, Stasis Rifle, Transfuser, and flashlight. The Cyclops, seabase modules, and the Escape Pod all have energy requirements that require power cells. For the Cyclops Power Cells are inserted into the engine to regain energy. The Seabase has the power generator, which also uses Power Cells for energy. The Cyclops, seabases, and the escape pod do require energy in Freedom Mode.
