Radiation is a damaging effect that surrounds the Aurora. Once the player enters the radiation zone, a warning will appear on the HUD and the noise of a Geiger Counter can be heard. As the player gets closer to the ship the screen will become fuzzy. The player can craft a Radiation Suit using two Lead, two Silicone, and two Titanium, which will protect against radiation.

After the Explosion

After the explosion of the Aurora, radiation will leak from the drive core, slowly, but surely covering large parts of the game world. At this point, if the player doesn't have a Radiation Suit yet, it will be very difficult for the player to return to the Escape Pod alive. The radiation radius is 420m around the power generator room[1].
