Alien devices penetrate the outer shell layer. Likely designed to supply them with nutrients, or to extract the same. |

Unlike most other eggs where a nutrient supply is slowly exhausted by the embryo, these eggs exist in a form of natural stasis, likely awaiting ideal hatching conditions. |

There is a high genetic match between these organisms and the leviathan in the vicinity. They appear to be stable and healthy. |

It is highly likely that ideal hatching conditions vary considerably from ideal conditions for survival of the parent. The local ecosystem appears to have prioritized the latter. |

In the future, five Sea Emperor Eggs will be located in the Primary Research Facility along with the last adult Sea Emperor.
These eggs cannot hatch due to the Primary Research Facility being built to match the ideal conditions for an adult Sea Emperor, which seem to be significantly different than the ideal conditions for a juvenile, as a result, these eggs have been in this state for hundreds of years. The eggs are attached to a piece of Precursor equipment that supplies them with what is necessary to keep them alive.
The player must hatch these eggs to cure himself of Carar in order for him to be able to leave the planet. To do so many plants must be gathered to create Hatching Enzymes
