The Secondary Bio-Research Facility is a precursor base in the Lost River, it was built around one thousand years ago. Here creatures were infected with Carar and then sent to the Primary Research Facility for further testing in the attempt to develop a cure. It will be the point in the story that the player is revealed to be infected with Carar.
This precursor base is extremely damaged and will be completely filled with water, it lies on the floor as the cables it would have been suspended from were destroyed in an attack by an escaped Sea Dragon Leviathan.
Part of the reason why the the Secondary Bio-Research Facility is where it's located is to study the skeleton in the Bones Field of the Lost River.
