The Precursors are a mysterious alien race on Planet 4546B. Most information surrounding them is currently unknown. In the future there will be four precursor bases in the world, located on the Mountain Island, and in the Lost River, the Lava Castle and the Active Lava Zone.

Their ulterior motive is to stop the spread of the Carar, a mysterious virus that currently ravages Planet 4546B. To accomplish this, the Warpers were created, a species of humanoid creatures that track and cull creatures in advanced stages of the disease.

Description

Although the Precursors are not seen in-game, they are an advanced race, able to create technologies capable of creating teleportation devices, bringing down ships, and imprisoning a Sea Emperor.

Abilities

Not much is known about their abilities, however, the Precursors are able to create and use Warpers as guards for their bases, and create advanced technology, such as a huge "gun" on the Mountain Island.[1] The Precursors are also able to create "keys", which unlock various things, such as teleporters.[2] In addition, the Precursors can create alloys that are highly heat-resistant and can be smelted into various ingots.[3]

However, it appears that the Precursor's abilities, intelligence, and creations only match up to a human's at best; this is made clear by the fact that they still need to budget power despite harnessing the entirity of the Lava Castle for energy, presumably due to the sheer scale of their operations.

Future Plans

  • The player will be able to craft teleporter rooms using Precursor crystals and Warper technology, and will be unlocked via one of their "keys".[4]
  • Precursor technology will also be used in the construction of a rocket.[5]
